They have brought three generations of their families together to begin the states first commercial lavender farm. They currently have over 600 lavender plants and 22 varieties. 1811 Augusta Jail
The 1811 Augusta Jail is located in the original town square (Appelman Park) and is the oldest jail in the state of Kentucky with it's original foundation. It housed prisoners into the 1970s and still has many original artifacts, including cells, cuffs and jailer's rifle.

Bracken Creek Horse and Hiking Trails
The trails are located at 617 East Gillespie Road, Augusta, KY 41002 just off of Route 9 (AA Highway)! The trails are the first part of the creation of a county park area, as a recreation destination for a variety of visitors. Currently the trails wrap around rolling wooded hills, lakes and agricultural plots for 20 miles.There are also two fishing lakes known as Big Bass Lake (catch and release only) and Beaver Lake (abide by KY fishing regulations and you can keep Bass 15" or larger) that are open to the public. A valid Kentucky fishing license is required to fish there. It is FREE to hike and fish at the trail system, although there is a fee for horseback riding to offset the park upkeep. Annual and daily Horseback Riding passes are available. There are no motorized vehicles allowed on the trails as well as bicycles. Also, there is no alcohol permitted and pets must be kept on a leash. The park is open from April 1 through Oct. 31 during daylight hours. Make sure you get out and enjoy the great outdoors!

Walcott Covered Bridge
The Walcott Covered Bridge is located directly off of the AA Hwy at the corner of KY Hwy 1159. The bridge spans 74 feet across Locust Creek and was originally built in the 1880s. It is believed to be the only covered bridge ever erected in the county. The bridge is open year round to pedestrian traffic only. There are also picnic tables on site and great creek views.
