Historic Walking Tours & Agri-ToursHistoric Walking Tour If you enjoy history, architecture and fresh air (and a little exercise…) then you will enjoy taking the historic walking tour of Augusta. On this tour, you will see many different types of architectural styles which include Colonial, Italianate and Victorian. The oldest homes, which are still standing, date from the early 1790s. Stop by the Welcome Center (corner of Main and Riverside) or the Tourism Office (219 Main St.) to pick up a copy of the “Walk through the past today in historic Augusta” brochure.
Agri-Tour Do you enjoy homemade salsa, lavender soap, fresh apples or blueberries? How about chipotle peppers, slowly smoked over Kentucky hardwood? Do you enjoy taking country drives out in the beautiful rolling hills of Kentucky? If so, then you will enjoy taking an agri-tour of one or more of our working farms. Here is a complete listing of the farms in our area that have committed themselves to growing alternative agricultural products. In addition, we have several farms that offer recreational activities like fishing and horseback riding. Many of these farms are open for tours, so give them a call and head on out there! A neat way to explore the county and visit these farms is to take the Bracken County Barn Quilt Tour; for more information visit the Barn Quilt website at: http://home.windstream.net/augustaky
